请教老师如此理解对吗？第一句可以不能理解为读完书只不过我看电视中间的一段时间，并非从头持续到尾，因此可以把while用when替代？谢谢！
1、网友的两个句子，英语都正确。
1. He read a book while I watched TV.
2. He was reading a book while I was watching TV.
但第一句的汉语翻译错误。倘若 He read a book. 后面没 while...这个时间状语时，表示“已经读完”。网友没完全领会 while 从句的意思，对于主句是一个延续性动词而言，while 用来讲明“主句谓语动词动作持续的时间段，在 while 存在时，主句谓语动词的动作不可能终止或完成。” 假如要表示主句动作在 while 从句进行的时候完成，那样，就要用终止性动词，且 while 从句最好用进行体。比如：
I saw a wallet on the street while I was walking.
以上两句虽然时态不同，但没本质有什么区别。
2、在 while 句中，谓语动词可以用进行体，也可以不需要，只须动作延续就好。分 4 种状况：
（1）主、从句都用进行体：
While Mary was writing a letter, the children were playing outside. 玛丽写信时，孩子们在外面玩耍。
（2）主、从句都用一般体：
I sat on the settee to unwrap the package while he stood by. 我坐在长椅上打开包裹时他就站在旁边。
（3）主句用一般体，从句用进行体：
Half the Committee walked out on the chairman while he was still speaking.
当主席仍在讲话时，委员会的半数成员便离席以示抗议。
（4）从句用一般体，主句用进行体：
They were grinning and watching while one man laughed and poured beer over the head of another. 当一个男子大笑着把啤酒倒在另一个人头上时，他们都在乐呵呵地看着。
