老师你好，请问这道题为何不选A？

B. is the same as it was
looks the same as it was 和is the same as it was，表达的意思是不同的，这是重要。假若没前一分句的话，这两个说法（答案）都是对的。
但，前文说：“这座城市正在变得愈加漂亮。” 后面的this area 要从中排除，既然排除，就需要用一定的口吻 “是”，而不可以用含糊的口吻 “看着是”。再说，looks 总是意味着表面是，其实不是。
我感觉，这类题目考查的内容已经超出了语法本身，而是“逻辑问题”了。
